This is the path that leads from Neuadd Fach, Black Mountain Retreat, Dew Cottage & Well Cottage to the open Black Mountain. This is NOT a public right of way and only available to holiday cottage guests. Guests at Ty Ucaf and Ty Obrey can walk along the road to the four cottages and the start of the path.

The first gate is behind Well Cottage. Immediately turn right uphill to go through a second gate. Head uphill across the field to the woodland where there is a path marker. Enter the wooded area and turn right to pass another path marker. Continue uphill to an old gate. The path continues uphill to the right leading to the open land of The Black Mountain. There is a path heading up beside a ruined shepherd's hut that leads up to the ridge that goes to Waun Fawr, the highest point of the The Black Mountain.
